Belle of the Ball

In October my friend Mike sent me a link for a possible illustration job that I might be interested in over at the blog of one Game creator/art director, Daniel Solis (his blog is here: danielsolisblog.blogspot.com/ and the post in question is here: danielsolisblog.blogspot.com/2… ).
I sent over an e-mail linking to my gallery here on deviant art with little expectations as to a reply. Man, was I wrong - sometime shortly after I'd written to him, I got a response right away about doing some test portraits!
I was pretty excited after that, and got to work doodling tons and tons of different faces of varying ages (it was during this process that I learned how insipidly fun drawing moustaches are).
It took me a month due to school work and other commissions that I had to work on (of which I need to finish here in the next couple of days because those poor people deserve their art).

But, I'm really happy and excited to say that I finished up the inks on six portraits yesterday. Today, there's a lovely mashup of sketches, including the final inks of some of the designs I sent over for Daniel's approval. He wrote this glowing, and shining review of working with me, and I have to thank him so much for the chance to do this job.
Up until this point, I've only done small commissions - for friends businesses or tattoo designs, or these small $5 bust commissions. I'd never done anything larger than that, so I definitely feel like I've gotten at least one more step in the right direction thanks to Daniel!
