Crowtaur by EternityEmporium Crowtaur by EternityEmporium
This is a creature created during a collaboration stream that I did with :devidNoelleMBrooks: where we polled her viewers to get two random animals which we would put together into a new creature. I was given a Crow and a Horse. I ended up with, what we dubbed, the Crowtaur. I put about a week's worth of work into this, and I'm really happy with it! I produced live on stream over at my twitch page:

You can buy the original or a print of this image over at my shop:!sh…

If a youtube video timelapse of the work is available, it will be linked here (eventually):

Interesting concept, but:

1. How does she see through that bird skull?

2. Doesn't her hair get in the way of her wings?

1. The skull can be removed, or pushed up like a helmet. It's primary use is to hide the face of the wearer. In case of combat, the eye sockets of the skull are large enough to see through. I chose not to show her eyes through these portals in this particular rendering.

2. While functional and able to move, the wings are not strong enough to lift the Crowtaur from the ground - the equine section of the body is simply too heavy. However, the wings are used in displays of dominance and flirting. Giving a feather from one's own wing to another is considered a gesture of goodwill and favor. Also, in the event of any sort of combat, the hair can easily be maintained by use of a simple bit of leather strapping - tied back and out of the way!

I hope that answers your questions! :)
